Origin CC
Through its releases, Origin CC seeks to reframe the established language of dance music, uncovering overlooked dimensions of the present and exploring spaces beyond conventional auditory perception.
At its core, the label is guided by principles of honesty, integrity, and endurance. Its identity is intentionally focused, balanced, and modest, allowing the music to lead without excess or distraction.
The logo system is designed to be flexible, adapting seamlessly across both small and large formats. Through the use of positive and negative space, the identity subtly forms two unified letter C’s, creating a mark that feels understated and unobtrusive. Soft, curved edges are introduced to enhance fluidity and cohesion throughout the system.
The primary colour palette is drawn from natural earth and rock materials—Slate, Chalk, and Obsidian—chosen to express a sense of longevity, permanence, and quiet strength. Rooted in whites and greys, these tones anchor a timeless visual language, reinforcing its enduring and grounded character.
The typeface, Calibre, was selected for its geometric structure softened by humanist qualities, resulting in typography that feels both focused and quietly expressive.
All artworks follow a custom grid system that establishes a consistent layout across releases. This framework strengthens brand recognition and creates a cohesive visual language, while left-aligned typography preserves the integrity of the imagery and remains clearly legible across smaller digital formats.
The Origin CC logo stamp is integrated within this grid as a mark of approval on each release. Its circular form creates a deliberate visual dialogue with the rectangular artwork space, reinforcing balance, structure, and brand presence throughout the catalogue.
Although the grid provides a restrained framework, it does not limit visual expression. Image selection is driven by the artistic intent of each release and the sonic atmosphere it seeks to convey. For instance, “Air | Spin” draws on imagery of desolate spaces and rugged terrain, evoking the eerie stillness of locations once charged with meaning and presence.
To support Origins CC’s musical releases, DJ mixes—referred to as Selections—are created to highlight key influences and explore potential creative directions. These mixes extend the label’s visual language, maintaining a consistent sense of fluidity across all digital touchpoints.
This cohesive system carries beyond music into supporting materials, including printed assets and promotional outputs. The brand logo acts as a visual anchor, guiding abstract static and motion design throughout. Together, these elements establish a unified brand presence across both physical and digital spaces with clarity and familiarity.
